Mathew D. Staver, B.A., M.A., J.D., LL.D., D.D. will address legal and policy implications of homosexuality as the Socarides Lecturer following the Saturday Awards Luncheon.

Mathew D. Staver is the Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel and also serves as Dean and Professor of Law at Liberty University School of Law. Liberty Counsel is a national nonprofit litigation, education and policy organization. Mr. Staver has written ten books, most of which focus on constitutional law, including the most comprehensive book ever written on religious freedom called, Eternal Vigilance: Knowing and Protecting Your Religious Rights. He produces and hosts Law & Justice, a 30-minute weekly TV program discussing religious liberty issues, Faith & Freedom, a 15-minute daily radio program, Freedom's Call, a 90-second daily radio program, and Liberty Live, a a weekday 1-hour, live, call-in radio program and interactive webcast focusing on topics of cultural and political interest from a Christian worldview, featuring leading political and religious leaders. Mr. Staver has argued in numerous state and federal courts across the country and has more than 120 published legal court opinions. He has written numerous briefs before the United States Supreme Court and has argued twice before the High Court as lead counsel.

George A. Rekers, Ph.D., ABPP, FAACP

George A. Rekers, Ph.D., ABPP, FAACP will give our Sunday morning Keynote Address.

Dr. George Rekers is Distinguished Professor of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science Emeritus at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. His work has been supported by more than one million dollars from private and governmental agencies, including NSF and NIMH. Dr. Rekers has delivered over 200 invited lectures in dozens of countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. He has well over one hundred publications and ten books, including editing the Handbook of Child and Adolescent Sexual Problems (Simon & Schuster). Dr. Rekers published the first empirical treatment studies demonstrating that childhood cross-gender identity could be reversed, thereby offering prevention of some forms of adulthood homosexual and transsexual development.

Norman Goldwasser, Ph.D., on Friday, is presenting a full-day skills-based clinical training on psychodiagnosis.

Dr. Norman Goldwasser is a clinical psychologist in Miami Beach, Florida where he is Director of Horizon Psychological Services, an interdisciplinary private practice that incorporates a team approach to clinical practice. Dr. Goldwasser received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va. He is especially known for his expertise in the field of ye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a treatment strategy widely regarded as the most effective modality for use in the treatment of trauma.
