Focus on the Family Holds Conference
November 2nd in Washington, D.C. Area

Focus on the Family, a ministry headed by psychologist and author Dr. James Dobson, is offering a series of high-quality instructional seminars on homosexuality at locations across the country. To date, attendance has ranged from 500-1100. The program aims especially at educators, counselors, pastors and parents. The next conference will take place on November 2nd in a suburb of Washington.

Focus on the Family acknowledges that thousands of parents are facing the pain of learning about a gay loved one, yet few know where to turn for answers. The conference addresses questions such as the following:

  1. understanding and preventing the condition in today's youth;
  2. how to help a friend or loved one who is struggling with the problem;
  3. answering the arguments of pro-gay theology;
  4. learning strategies to approach one's school board about gay activism in the educational system.
Several of the speakers are noted ex-gay men and women who, candidly and with conviction, speak out about their own struggles and successes along the road out of homosexuality. All of the talks are supplemented by high-quality video presentations and video-projected notes. A comprehensive instructional booklet is also given to all registrants which includes a detailed outline of the day's speeches, along with a list of recommended reading materials.
