Catholic Priest John Harvey
Starts Courage Group In Mexico

August 16, 2005 - Father John Harvey, founder of Courage, an organization for Catholics struggling with same-sex attractions, has just established a chapter in Mexico. Fr. Harvey traveled to Mexico in July to meet with members of the Mexican Bishop's Conference headed by Bishop Jose Guadalupe Martin. Bishop Martin has expressed support for Courage and is looking forward to helping Harvey with his ministry in Mexico.

The Courage Latino web site has been established and Courage began meeting in Mexico City in early August. According to an English translation of the web site, "Latin Courage is the Hispanic arm of Courage, an apostolate of the Roman Catholic Church whose intention is to minister to those with attractions towards the same sex.... We are the only organization of this type in the Catholic Church approved by the Vatican."

Courage Latino provides links to several recommended organization, including NARTH.
