Dr. Julie Hamilton Elected
New President of NARTH

The Board of Directors of NARTH meeting at the annual convention in Denver, Colorado elected Dr. Julie Hamilton, Assistant Professor in the Graduate Counseling Program of Palm Beach Atlantic University, to serve as President of the organization in 2009. Dr. Hamilton noted that her first priority was reaching out to other mental health professionals and the general public to educate them about homosexuality and provide them with more information about the vital role of the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality.

Dr. Hamilton is a licensed marriage and family therapist and has extensive clinical experience in providing individual, marriage, and family therapy in a variety of settings.

She conducts seminars for those who are interested in the genesis and treatment of homosexuality and has produced a video titled "Homosexuality 101: Where Does It Come From, Is Change Possible, and How Should Christians Respond?" Dr. Harren-Hamilton is the past president of the Palm Beach Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

The NARTH Board will meet in a two-day strategic planning meeting in December to make specific plans and approve the annual goals for the association. Dr. Hamilton noted that there are so many outstanding opportunities for developing new research in the field, invitations for NARTH to participate in educational forums through out the world, and important organizational goals to accomplish she hopes to attract new members to NARTH from the professional and academic community.

She will assume the presidency of NARTH in January, 2009.
