JOURNEY INTO MANHOOD:
A Healing Weekend By "People Can Change"

Southern California, February 21 - 23, 2002

Journey into Manhood is a weekend of experiential exercises and inner healing processes for men who are serious about working to overcome and resolve unwanted homosexual desires. The retreat is designed to help you:

· look at the inner perceptions that you project onto the outer world -- perceptions that may be cutting you off from the male world, your own masculinity, and your ability to relate romantically with women;

· explore your feelings about men and women, masculinity and femininity, and your own self-image (or "gender esteem") that may be blocking you from growing fully into manhood;

· gain a clearer vision to see -- and greater passion to make -- the changes you need to make in your life to become the man you want to be and to live the life you want to live.

Journey into Manhood is intended for men who want to lessen or eliminate homosexual desire and embrace heterosexual masculinity. It is intended for men who feel that their homosexual desires do not reflect their "true selves" but rather are symptoms of problems identifying with men and masculinity.

Journey into Manhood is NOT appropriate for men who are looking for a gay-affirmative experience, sexual encounters, a religious seminar or want to engage in "gay bashing." It is not necessarily recommended for men who are undecided whether they want to live a homosexual life or a heterosexual life; rather, it is recommended for men who have already decided to develop a more heterosexual emotional life.

Space will be limited to 24 men. The training will be staffed by nine men who either have come out of a homosexual background themselves, and/or have experience or training working with and mentoring men to do so, and/or have experience and training in coaching and facilitating deep personal-growth work for men generally. The cost is $350, which covers the full training plus two nights' lodging in group cabins at the retreat center and all meals.

The retreat begins at 4:00 p.m. Friday evening February 21st and ends at 4:30 p.m. Sunday February 23rd. It will be held in the Santa Monica Mountains in Malibu, California. The camp is 45 miles from the Los Angeles International Airport.

Deposits will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. A $150 deposit holds your place. Deposits must be received by January 20, 2003, but if the training is full before then, the registration period will be closed early and others will be put on a waiting list.
