Now Forming:
Pastoral Counseling Network

Rev. Dr. Russell G. Waldrop,
Chaplain/Pastoral Counselor,
Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a Christian pastoral counselor interested in networking with other pastoral counselors, psychologists, physicians, and marriage and family counselors regarding issues of concern about sexuality.

An internal initiative was recently mailed within the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC) urging members to recognize and approve gay relationships and gender-identity diversity. The group sponsoring the initiative is forming their own organization called "Pastoral Counselors for Openness around Sexual Diversity," and will raise money for education and political advocacy promoting its cause. They are not an official part of AAPC, but have scheduled an off-site meeting at AAPC's national conference in Atlanta on April 19-21. To date, they have gathered enough signatures to represent about one-fourth of the AAPC membership.

Please join me if you share my conviction that our faith's foundational understanding of human sexuality should not be changed. With the scientific understanding of sexuality from NARTH, combined with the beliefs we share from our faith tradition, we can mobilize to help others stand firm in their convictions.
