Issues to be addressed:
- What causes homosexual feelings?
- Is sexual reorientation possible?
- How do I unconditionally love my SSAD child or friend without approving their lifestyle?
- How do I heal the hurt?
- How do I communicate with someone I love who is struggling with same sex attractions?
- What is the ex-gay movement?
- How can I effectively advocate for the ex-gay community?
- I'm gay, but I don't want to be. Now what?
This conference is appropriate for adults, teenagers, clergy, therapists and
educators -- anyone interested in learning the real facts about homosexuality
and the great hope of change! Come and support one other as we unite to defend
and strengthen our families. Interpreters for the deaf will be provided.
Special sessions for: Hispanics, African-Americans, struggling transgenders,
and clergy members.
Planned conference speakers include:
- Rock singer Stephen Bennet (http://www.SBMinistries.org) will play his contemporary
music and present his stirring testimony on leaving the homosexual lifestyle.
- Ex-gay ministry leader Michael Lumberger is the first African-American to serve
on the Exodus board. He serves as a pastor and worship leader at Covenant Church
of Pittsburgh, a cross-cultural inner-city fellowship of 2,000 members.
- Rigoberto Carrion directs the Hispanic ex-gay ministry "El Hijo Prodigo" in Orlando,
Florida.
- Acclaimed speaker Marjorie Hopper lived as a man for more than 20 years. Marjorie
is featured on the Ex-Gay Today TV show "A Former Transgender."
- Author and psychotherapist Richard Cohen. As director of the International Healing
Foundation, Cohen has been interviewed by newspapers, radio and television media,
including appearances on 20/20 and Larry King Live. Cohen holds a Master of Arts
degree in Counseling Psychology.
- As the director of PFOX, Regina Griggs helps to reunite families with their gender-
disidentified children. As the mother of a child with same-sex attractions,
she understands the anxiety experienced by families when confronted by their
loved one's homosexuality.
