PFLAG Partners with
National Parent-Teacher Association

June 25, 2004 - CNSNews.com has reported that, for the first time, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) will be partnering with the National PTA during its conference in Anaheim, California. The PTA offers "It's Elementary: Talking About Gay Issues At School" as a resource for parents and teachers.

PFLAG will present a "safe school" workshop at the Anaheim conference, which runs from June 26 through June 28, 2004.

PFLAG's Executive Director Ron Schlittler told CNSNews, "Together we can reach out to schools on a local, state, and national level and send an unequivocal message: we will not permit our children to suffer abuse for simply being who they are."

NARTH's article, "The World According to PFLAG: Why PFLAG And Children Don't Mix," explains more about this organization and its goals. NARTH has also produced "Homosexual Advocacy Groups & Your School," which is available for $5.
