I want to thank Dr. Mark Yarhouse for taking the time to give us information on
the Sexual Identity Institute at Regent University.
This month, Jerry Armelli, M. Ed, PC, will be telling us his story and
answering questions about his life and recovery from homosexuality. Mr. Armelli
has a wonderful story that we, as professionals, can learn much from. He is the
Director and a Founder of Prodigal Ministries Inc., in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Established in 1986, Prodigal Ministries is a multifaceted ministry and a
referral of Exodus International -- North America. Exodus serves an estimated
20,000 individuals a year (www.ExodusNorthAmerica.org).
Prodigal Ministries Inc., provides information, support groups, mentoring and
prayer to persons seeking hope and healing from homosexual feelings and
identity. This includes an HIV/AIDS ministry. A vital role of Prodigal
Ministries Inc., is the training and equipping of the Church and community on
aspects of homosexuality from a Biblical perspective
Jerry has taught extensively and his testimony has been heard
internationally. His teaching experience includes: Exodus International
conferences: Gordon College (MA), Loyola, Trinity University (TX), Point Loma
Nazarene University (CA), Asbury Theological Seminary (KY), University of
Toronto (Canada) and Focus on the Family's Love Won Out conference. Cable
services to twenty-two European countries with an estimated fifty-five million
subscribers have aired Jerry's story. Additionally, he has spoken on the
campuses of Purdue University (IN), Cincinnati Bible College & Seminary.
Jerry obtained his Master of Education in 1991 from Xavier University in
Cincinnati, Ohio. He was on staff at Life Way Christian Counseling Centers from
1991 to 1997. He and his wife, Mia married in 1994. Their first child, Corin Joy
was born in June of 1998. Jerry and Mia own and operate a dance studio for
children.
