Journey into Manhood is a weekend of experiential exercises and inner-healing processes for men who are serious about working to overcome and resolve unwanted homosexual desires. The retreat is designed to help you:

look at the inner perceptions that you project onto the outer world - perceptions that may be cutting you off from the male world, your own masculinity, and your ability to relate romantically with women;

explore your feelings about men and women, masculinity and femininity, and your own self-image (or "gender esteem") that may be blocking you from growing fully into manhood;

gain a clearer vision to see - and greater passion to make - the changes you need to make in your life to become the man you want to be and to live the life you want to live.

Journey into Manhood is intended for men who want to lessen or eliminate homosexual desire and embrace heterosexual masculinity. It is intended for men who feel that their homosexual desires do not reflect their "true selves" but rather are symptoms of problems identifying with men and masculinity. Journey into Manhood is NOT appropriate for men who are looking for a gay-affirmative experience, sexual encounters, a religious seminar or who want to engage in "gay bashing." It is not necessarily recommended for men who are undecided whether they want to live a homosexual or a heterosexual life; rather, it is recommended for men who have already decided to develop a more heterosexual orientation.

The training is staffed by about 20 men who receive little or no remuneration for their service. They staff the retreat as a give-away because they care deeply about men's pain. The men on staff either have come out of a homosexual background themselves, and/or have experience or training in working with and mentoring men to do so, and/or have experience and training in coaching and facilitating deep personal-growth work for men generally. They are not professional therapists or counselors, or are not working as professional therapists or counselors in the course of the weekend.

The cost is $550, which covers the full training plus all meals and two nights' stay in group rooms or cabins. The retreat begins promptly at 3:30 p.m. Friday and ends at 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Space will be limited to 32 men. Deposits will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. A $150 deposit holds your place. As soon as the training is full, the registration period will be closed and others who have submitted deposits will be put on a waiting list.
