 - 1. "Sexual Politics And Scientific Logic: The Issue Of Homosexuality"

Dr. Charles W. Socarides is one of the original founders of NARTH. He became embroiled in the debate within the APA in the 1970s over efforts to remove homosexuality as a mental disorder from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). In this article, Dr. Socarides observes that the removal of homosexuality from the DSM in 1973, "...created injustices for the homosexual, as it belied the truth that prevented the homosexual from seeking and receiving psychoanalytic help." (Read full summary.) This important document should be in the hands of lawmakers, school officials, pastors, members of the media, and parents who are concerned about their children being encouraged to experiment with a homosexual lifestyle through organizations such as the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Suggested donation: $10.

 - 2. "Homosexual Advocacy Groups & Your School"

This BRAND NEW, 6-page glossy pamphlet strongly advises schools to encourage students to wait until adulthood to make decisions about sexual identity. Students should also be informed that therapy exists to diminish homosexuality. This pamphlet is a "must have" for all parents who are concerned about homosexual advocacy groups coming to their local school campus. Parents may wish to personally deliver this pamphlet to their local school principal or counselor. Suggested donation: $5.

3. Now Available! NARTH's own survey of 882 homosexually oriented individuals who have experienced a degree of change--published in the peer-reviewed journal Psychological Reports in June 2000.

"Retrospective Self-Reports of Changes in Homosexual Orientation: A Consumer Survey of Conversion Therapy Clients," is a study by Joseph Nicolosi, Ph.D., A. Dean Byrd, Ph.D. and Richard W. Potts, M.A. Copies of the article are available in pamphlet form for a suggested donation of $5.

4. NARTH's survey of 206 psychotherapists who have practiced sexual reorientation therapy.

"Beliefs and Practices of Therapists Who Practice Sexual Reorientation Psychotherapy." This peer-reviewed study was published in Psychological Reports in April, 2000. Each pamphlet-form copy of this article is available for a suggested donation of $5.

5. NARTH's analysis of 14 studies on the efficacy of sexual reorientation therapy.

"A Meta-Analytic Review of Treatment of Homosexuality." This study was published in Psychological Reports in June, 2002. Each pamphlet-form copy of this article is available for a suggested donation of $5.

6. "In Layman's Language: What NARTH Found in its 'Survey on Change'."

This is an elaboration of the NARTH study which was published in June 2000 in Psychological Reports. In this 30-page, informal paper, we describe our findings about sexual reorientation in greater detail, and in language understandable by the casual reader. Self-esteem, sense of personal power, and interpersonal relationships substantially improved, even among those respondents who still struggled to some degree with unwanted attractions. Simple language for the layman, suited to doctoral dissertations, media reports. Suggested donation: $10.

7. Questions and Answers on Homosexuality, Parts I and II

Two new, 6-page glossy fliers which answer many of the claims made by gay activists when they promote gay-affirming programs in schools and counseling programs. We address essential, basic questions such as these:

  • Should public schools teach the value of sexual diversity?
  • Are objections to homosexuality simply "ignorance and bigotry?"
  • Is sexual-reorientation treatment unethical, since homosexuality is not listed in the diagnostic manual?
  • Are parents "to blame" for their child's homosexuality?
  • What makes some people dissatisfied as homosexuals, while others are "gay and proud"?
  • Is gay "who a person really is"?

Suggested donation: $10.

8. "Understanding Same-Sex Attractions"

This 20-page booklet contains five easy-to-understand essays on male homosexuality. Attractively packaged in a glossy vinyl organizer. Available in quantities for school principals, pastors, church groups, conferences. Sections:
